two phone charger plugs

What worked before might not now

January 02, 20262 min read

I got a new mobile phone recently. It didn’t come with a charger, but I figured that was ok as I had one already.

Surely, I could use my old one, that I’d used for a few phones now, and it would be fine.

Then I noticed the plug was getting too hot when charging.

So, I checked what charger my new phone would need.

I don’t know much about volts and amps, but I could tell the numbers on the phone and the charger no longer matched.

What worked for us before, when we were a different version of ourselves, a different phone model if you will, might not work for us when we change.

When a particular career has been a huge part of our lives, what can we take forward into the next stage of our life?

What knowledge, skills, status?

And how do we replace them once we leave the career vehicle behind?

If we even want to?

Leaving a job behind, in part or in its entirety, can create space for new learning and growth.

To do different things with our time, to gain new experiences and meet new people.

It doesn’t only have to be a case of out with the old and in with the new.

But in entering a new stage of life, we do need to recognise that our previous mindset and approach to our day to day may no longer be what serves us best.

We can choose to live differently and don’t have to apply the previous model to what comes next.

Get in touch for a conversation about how we can work together to support you through this process.
