Are you waiting for a sign?
I loved my first proper job, right until the night before I was made redundant.
For the first time in over a year, I suddenly had Sunday night angst.
Call it a premonition or call it something I ate.
We can often see signs that confirm or seem to connect to our thoughts or perceptions, especially after the fact. But what about beforehand?
Are you waiting for a sign to make a decision?
For the universe to somehow tell you what to do about leaving your job?
Or to tell you you’re right or wrong about which path to take next?
This can often be about making us feel more comfortable, or more certain, about the decisions we make and the actions we take.
Fear of 'getting it wrong’ can leave us wanting outside support or reinforcement.
Maybe we don’t trust ourselves to take what can feel like a big leap.
I see signs everywhere.
Maybe it’s coincidence, maybe it’s me choosing to make the connections, and interpreting the signs in a way that makes sense to me, for better or worse.
In practice, I believe we have to make our own decisions, based on the best information we have and the physical and emotional reactions our body and mind produce in relation to it.
And sometimes we’re going to get things wrong. We’re human.
I would still choose to be proactive and encourage you to be the same.
If we made a choice in good faith, and it doesn’t work out, then we reflect and try again.
And if it does work out, take the credit for it, don’t pass it off as the universe.
If you’re holding back and want objective support to make decisions about your next stage in life, get in touch for a conversation about how we can work together.
